Jordan Hicks is in his fourth season as the middle
linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hicks was drafted in the 3rd
round during Chip Kelly’s last season. Number 58 was one of the few bright
spots of that season which involved Kiko Alonso and many missed tackles in a
3-4 defense. During that season, Mychal Kendricks, Kiko Alonso, and DeMeco
Ryans were all unhealthy at some point, which allowed for Hicks to fill-in and
showcase his talent.
Unfortunately, Hicks caught the injury bug too. In both his
rookie year and last year, he had season ending injuries. Luckily, Philadelphia
has enough talent to not need to rely on him. The Philadelphia Eagles obviously
overcame a ton of injuries last season, and they won the Superbowl. Kendricks
was recently released from the Eagles, which shows that the coaching staff have
faith Hicks should be healthy.
When Hicks is healthy he is a Pro Bowl caliber player and
vocal leader of the defense. As the middle linebacker, he has the talent to be
an anchor to the defense. When healthy, he is a Pro Bowl player and the Eagles
defense could be the best in the league. Jordan is probably anxious to get the
season started because you’d think that wants a Superbowl ring that played in.
The best advice I have for him is to not get injured. Hicks already has a
reputation for being injured, but if he gets injured again it could possibly
cost him his career.
